Elizabeth Guinle-Salter, MA T&I, CMI

Elizabeth Guinle-Salter started her career in Australia and holds a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation (Spanish <> English) from Macquarie University, Sydney. She is a NAATI certified Professional Translator > English and a CMI certified Medical Interpreter. As a Medical Interpreter at Yale New Haven Hospital, she also facilitated and presented seminars for Language Services. Now, as Medical Interpreter and Translator at Stanford Health Care, Elizabeth continues her educational activities and developed protocols and a presentation on sexual violence cases for staff training. She is a board member of the California Healthcare Interpreting Association, on the education and conference committees. Elizabeth’s educational activities are inspired by the challenges practitioners confront to maintain the integrity of the profession in all modalities. She has focused on activities that are peer-to-peer collaborative and that support the development of practitioners’ extralinguistic knowledge and self-care.
